SIGWA
SIGWA, the acronym for Students Involved in Geophysical Weather and Atmospheric Studies, is the Tagalog word for an upcoming storm. SIGWA was established in 2012 when a research grant was awarded by the Office of the then Vice-Chancellor for Research, Dr. Arnie Azcarraga, to Dr. Gil Nonato C. Santos, recipient of the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê Challenge Grant for the research project entitled °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê Air Weather Observation System (AWOS) for the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê District Schools and Science Schools in the Philippines.
