SDRC Elected to Head Local Governance Research Network
Results of the recent Local Governance Training and Research Institute-Philippine Network—or LoGoTRI-PhilNet—Board of Directors election were recently released, naming the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê Social Development Research Center as the new President for 2019-2022.
Held during the BOD meeting in Pasig City on April 24, the elections were conducted to select a new set of officers to carry on the network’s programs toward promoting excellence in local governance among empowered and responsive local resource institutions.
Other institutions elected to lead LoGoTRI-PhilNet in the coming three-year term are the Gerry Roxas Foundation as Vice President for NCR and Treasurer; the Ateneo de Naga Center for Local Governance as VP for Luzon; Holy Name University as VP for Visayas; Father Saturnino State Urios as VP for Mindanao; Tanggol Kalikasan as Secretary; and Eastern Samar State University as Auditor.
The Jesse Robredo Institute of Governance of °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê, together with Western Philippine University and Misamis University, will also be on the Board of Directors for the 2019-2022 term.
SDRC Research Fellow and Solid Waste Management Association of the Philippines (SWAPP) Executive Vice-President Dr. Marlon Era has represented the Center in LoGoTRI-PhilNet since 2004, and will continue to do so through the next three years.
LoGoTRI-PhilNet aims to assist in the capacity building of stakeholders in local governance all over the country. Its members are more than a hundred institutions nationwide, mostly consisting of State Universities and Colleges, private universities, NGOs and CSOs. SDRC has benefited from its membership in the network with a number of research projects.

LoGoTRI-PhilNet will eventually be joining membership in the LoGOTRI-Asia-Pacific (the Network of Local Government Training and Research Institutes in Asia and the Pacific).
