Dissertation (12 units)
A student in the PhD Economics program advances to the dissertation proposal stage (6 units), after passing the written comprehensive examination, and culminates to dissertation writing and defense stage (6 units). A student in the dissertation writing is also awarded the PhD Economics candidate status.
Credit of units
Under certain meritorious cases, a student who obtained a master’s degree from another institution is awarded a maximum of 15 units credit, depending on the assessment of the department subject to existing guidelines.
Some additional guidelines
To be in good academic standing, a student must:
- maintain a cumulative general point average of 2.5 for MSc students, and 3.0 for PhD students,
- not obtain a grade of 0.0 on two or more three-unit courses, or at least one six-unit course.
- ´Ç²ú³Ù²¹¾±²ÔÌýa grade of at least 2.0 in each course taken in the MSc program and 2.5 in the PhD program.
